Find the root of every dollar in your data and AI stack
Your cloud, data and AI bills tell you how much you spent. They don't tell you who spent it. RootSpend splits every dollar by team, project and person, and tells you when something spikes.
Opening soon. Read only access to your tools, nothing to install.

Engineers see queries. Finance sees invoices.
RootSpend gives both of them the same number, broken down the way your company actually works.
Who spent it, not just how much
Five teams share one OpenAI account. RootSpend checks which project and which person every call came from, and splits the bill that way. Anything it can’t place shows up as Unassigned, and the totals still add up to your invoice.
Ask your spend anything
Filter by tool, team or tag. Group by two things at once, compare with last month, and drill down to a single project.
Spikes, caught with the evidence
When a tool costs far more than a normal day, RootSpend flags it with the numbers behind it and what that day cost you.
Hear about a spike before the invoice does
Give any team or project a budget. Get a Slack message, an email or a webhook when spend jumps or the forecast runs over.
Reports for people who never log in
Schedule a monthly summary, a savings report or a cost report per team. They land in the inbox as PDF or CSV.
Set it up before lunch
No agents to install and no code to change. The first sync pulls up to 90 days of history, so you have real numbers the same day.
Step 1
Connect
Paste a key, run a short script for Snowflake, or enter a seat plan by hand. You see every permission before anything is saved.
Step 2
Map your teams
RootSpend picks up the people, projects and accounts from your tools. You put them in teams, and the costs follow.
Step 3
Catch what changes
When a tool suddenly costs more, you see the day, the tool and the extra amount. Alerts go wherever your team reads them.
Step 4
Stay ahead of it
Set a budget for each team or project and watch the forecast for the month, so next month isn’t another surprise.
Every AI and cloud bill, in one place
API usage, cloud invoices and seat plans. Three kinds of bills, one set of numbers your whole company can trust.
Billed by usage
Connect with a read only key. Synced every day, with cost per person where the vendor reports users.
Claude APIClaude Console organizations, pay as you go
Claude Enterprise usageClaude Enterprise on claude.ai, usage based billing
OpenAI APIOpenAI Platform organizations, pay as you go
SnowflakeAny Snowflake account, on demand or capacity
GeminiGemini API, Vertex AI and Code Assist, on a Cloud Billing account
Cloud bills
Daily cost per service and account, including AI models you run on your cloud.
Billed per seat
A fixed price per seat. Copilot syncs from GitHub, and you enter the price and seats for the rest.

For any tool we don’t connect to yet: enter its price and pick the category it belongs to.

Your tools, your data, your call
You are handing us access to your bills. Here is exactly what that access can and cannot do.
It only reads
RootSpend never creates, changes or deletes anything in your tools. Wherever a vendor offers read only access, that is all we ask for.
Billing data only
We read costs and usage numbers. Your tables, files, prompts and responses never leave your accounts.
Keys stay locked up
API keys and private keys are encrypted at rest.
Every change is logged
Who edited a budget, a team or a rule, and when. It is all in the audit log.
You decide who sees what
Roles control who can view costs or manage budgets. You can switch off costs per person entirely.
Take it with you, or delete it
Owners can export all of their organization’s data at any time, or delete it for good.

Pay for what we track, not for seats
Everyone who owns a budget should be able to see it. So we never charge per user.

These are launch prices. Tracked spend is the monthly cost RootSpend watches across your connected tools. Getting close to your limit? We tell you first, so you never get a surprise bill from us.
Not yet. We are opening to a first group of teams soon, and people on the waitlist get in first. If you want to see it before then, book a demo and we will walk you through it on sample data.
No. RootSpend only reads cost and usage data. It never creates, changes or deletes anything in your tools, and wherever a vendor offers read only access, that is all we ask for. You see the exact permissions before you connect, and every change made inside RootSpend lands in an audit log.
OpenAI, the Claude API, Claude Enterprise, Gemini, Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and GitHub Copilot. AI plans you pay per seat, like ChatGPT Business, Claude Team or Google AI Pro, can be added with their price and number of seats. Anything else, you add yourself as a custom plan.
OpenAI, Claude and Copilot take a couple of minutes: you paste a key. Snowflake takes around five, because you run a short script that creates a read only user. Cloud accounts and Gemini take about ten, mostly to create a read only role or service account. The first sync pulls up to 90 days of history.
That is the problem RootSpend was built for. For AI tools and Snowflake it looks at who made each call or ran each query and splits the bill that way. For cloud bills, teams claim accounts or projects, or you use a tag. Anything it cannot match shows up as Unassigned, so nothing gets quietly lost.
Yes. Every dollar is counted once. Add up the teams and you get the bill. Add up the categories and you get the bill again.
No. It reads billing and usage numbers only: costs, token counts, projects, accounts and members. Your tables, files, prompts and responses stay where they are.
It is the monthly cost RootSpend watches across the tools you connect. Starter covers up to $5k a month and Team up to $50k. If you get close to your limit, we tell you before anything changes.
Yes. When we open, Starter and Team will both start with 14 days free, and you will not need a card to begin.
